    Storm Watchers

I hope all my fellow Floridians are staying dry during these last few days of wet drizzle produced by super slow moving Tropical Storm Fay. She has been moving at 2mph yesterday and today and Brad likes to say he could out walk her. So far it seems the worst of her winds and water damage have stayed to the south of us. The last few days have been pretty uneventful so far. Lots of rain, a wind gust that nearly knocked me over while I was taking Lucy potty and a few small trees down. Right now there are about 70,000 people in the Jacksonville area without power and thankfully we are not one of them at the moment. I have been busy catching up on laundry, cleaning house and preparing for Brad's family to come visit on Saturday. We have been praying that this bad weather will be long gone by Sunday when we all head down to Daytona for some much needed time at the beach. If you thought Brad was crazy about this weather, you should see his mom. She has checked in with us profusely to be sure we are still here and the resort we are staying at in Daytona hasn't washed away into the sea. Everything is A-OK mom... we're lucky to not be paddling around in canoes like some people in Melbourne have.

Here are some fun photos of a normal Florida afternoon thunderstorm that rolled into town last week. The clouds in these pictures are far more ominous than the ones Fay brought with her. (I took these while driving so please forgive the crazy angles... I just though the clouds hovering over downtown Jacksonville were far too dramatic not to take a picture of.)

Oh and I just for the heck of it... I bought Lucy a new harness last week... FINALLY! See how badly she needed one. These are the exact same harness... one is her old one and one is brand new. Hard to believe the one on the left once looked as squeaky clean and bright as the one on the right. I actually bought her 2 new harnesses, one with cute little white doggie bones on it as well as a sparkly new collar. Poor girl needed some new accessories. ;)

I hope everyone is staying safe and that power is restored to everyone soon. I know our friends Cory & Bobby have been without power for most of the day today. Keep sending out the good weather prayers and vibes... we want sunshine for our mini vacation with the family. :)

Those clouds are creepy... I stayed in my house so I never really saw them.
And the harness is hilarious... that's why we have a black one for our Yorkie! : )

I know... its hard to believe that harness didn't always look like something that was vomited up by the lords of the underworld. I would buy Lucy something more dirt defying if I wasn't determined to keep her in pink all the time just so people stop calling her a boy. Apparently if you own a black dog its an automatic boy. Whoda thunk it?!
