    Ashley & Mikey's Destin Wedding

A few weeks ago, Brad and I traveled to Destin, FL to shoot the destination wedding of Ashley and Mikey. It had always been a dream of Ashley's to get married on a white sandy beach, and she couldn't have picked a better location. She and Mikey live in Nashville and had been planning this beach wedding for over a year. They wanted a simple, fun, vacation inspired wedding and I think it turned out absolutely perfect. We had such a great time and couldn't ask for a better group of people to spend the day with. Even though it was in the upper 90's well into the evening we all had a blast! Check out some of my favorite shots then be sure to watch the slideshow. Ashley and Mikey, we love you both and are so happy to have been a part of your wedding day. NOTE: this was the first time I had ever been to Destin, or any of the panhandle beaches for that matter. So fun! :)

Okay... time for the slideshow! One of my favorite things was during the father/daughter dance, not only did Ashley dance with her dad, but Mikey danced with his two little girls as well. It was so sweet.

Congratulations you two!!! We will have to get together next time we are up in Nashvegas! :)

Allison & Ben's Downtown Nashvegas Wedding

This wedding is long over due to be blogged so at long last... it has arrived!!! Last month I went to Nashville to shoot along side Chuck Arlund and I had an absolute blast. Allison and Ben were such a cool couple and their wedding reflected their classic style with a touch of the sass. They had a beautiful ceremony at City Hall (which is a venue... not the actual City Hall) hopped over to Bar 23 for cocktail hour while City Hall was transformed to make way for their stunning reception. After hours of dancing and partying they were whisked away in a vintage Jaguar... off to a summer in New York. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.

Allison and Ben... I hope you've been having an amazing summer in NYC. You two were simply made for each other. May you continue to make each other smile for years and years to come.

    Doggie Daycare

This week, we are watching Jackson again while his parents are out of town. I love when he is here because a) he is super cute and cuddly and b) he keeps Lucy occupied. They were so cute yesterday that I had to snap a few photos. They crack me up because they play so hard (sometimes it sounds like WWII) that they wear each other out and have to take periodic "rest" breaks. These two photos were shot during one of these breaks.

Later in the evening after Brad got home, we were watching Top Chef Reunion (why Richard was not fan favorite I do not know... but moving on) Lucy snuggled up to Brad in this very comfy looking position. NOTE: Brad did not position her or coax her in any way... she maneuvers herself into these crazy positions, often trying to be as close to his face as she can.

Check the sleepy tongue... she might as well be drooling

Jackson was passed out on the floor but he became very alert when I got down there to take a picture

    I Run for the Pies

Saturday night, Brad, myself and our friends Bobby and Erin all ran in the "I Run for the Pies 5k" here in downtown Jacksonville. Although the race didn't start until 7:30pm, it was super hot. I'm pretty sure it was still over 90 degrees out when we started running. The course was pretty tuff at times but I liked how scenic it was running through the downtown streets. I've had a bum knee for a few weeks now and wasn't sure if I would be able to run the entire distance, but I did! My time wasn't all that impressive at 33:44, but I was just happy to have completed it without having to walk half because of my knee. Bobby was able to finish under 20 minutes again and won an apple pie for everyone. After crossing the finish line, I waited with water in hand to give Brad and Erin as they came across. While standing there one of the billions of birds that were swarming over head decided to poop on me... dropping a nugget of love right on my shoulder. With my hands full, I sort of grimaced and waited until Brad crossed the finish line and got his water so I could clean it off. Right after he came in another bird, or possibly the same one with bowel issues, dropped some more love onto his head. Rumor has it, its lucky to get pooed on... so maybe we are lucky... who knows. All I know is there were cups of water being poured on his head immediately afterwards. Aside from experiencing number two from above, we had an awesome time... and can't wait to do the Tour de Pain in August!!! Maybe the poo was a sign that we will DOMINATE the August races. Go team Wat-Haines!

PS: Don't the little running pies on our bibs look more like California Raisins?? I think so.

    Maranda's Maternity Session

I posted a short teaser from this session a couple weeks back, but the entire session turned out so lovely that I just had to post another blog about it. Maranda is such a beautiful pregnant woman and James is so hilarious it made for such a fun shoot. We can't wait for the big day when we get to document Andrew's arrival into the world. He is going to be one very loved little boy.

Maranda and James met when he was working as a lifeguard one summer, so they wanted to be sure to get a few photos of them on the lifeguard stand.
