On a cold night in early December I received the phone call from one of my birth clients that she was in labor and her little guy was on his way. I grabbed my camera bag and headed to the birthing center. The Christley's were already there and prepping for their baby boy to arrive. The labor progressed and stalled throughout the night but mom was strong and made it through 100% natural. She gave birth to a healthy baby just as day broke on December 4th. I had never seen a water birth before and it was such an amazing experience to be a part of. Words cannot express how miraculous it is to witness the birth of a child. It brought tears to my eyes as I saw mom and dad hold their little boy for the first time. Thank you both so much for allowing me to be a part of your lives. You are such a beautiful family and I hope you will cherish these photos for years and years.

The slideshow makes you feel like you are there witnessing the entire thing. Very well documented! Beautiful!
That was so beautiful! I'm sitting here in my Pjs with tears streaming down my face. Wonderul job!!!!
Awwww!!!
Melanie... you are awesome. I felt the emotions of Andrew's birth by watching the emotion in this one. You are so gifted.
stunning. amazing. beautiful. life is so precious, and you've just reminded us all how little they are, how much it hurts, and how quickly the pain is erased the instant you see them and fall in love...
Thanks Christine. Its really amazing to be able to capture and hold on to those fleeting memories for a family like that. So many emotions wrapped into one little time span.
I am simply blown away by your work. Kate told me you had done her birth photos and I just had to see them. WOW!!!! Wow to the birth pictures, and wow to the PUG pictures. Needless to say, I spent lots of time of your web site and blog.
I just got a call yesterday from my best friend to tell me she's pregnant!! It was a strange coincidence that I had just teared up over these photos. I sent her a link to see them. Unfortunately she lives down in South FL. Probably neither of us will get to be there to do photos of HER baby's birth. But hopefully your work will inspire her to find someone in her area.
Amazing! You are SO talented.
